Dear Thorncliffe Families,

Another great week at Thorncliffe! It was lovely seeing so many families at Meet the Teacher on Thursday evening. We enjoyed having the opportunity to connect with families, share a little about the school year ahead, and welcome everyone into our school community.

Our Grade 3, 4 and 5 students also had a wonderful time exploring the wetlands at Ralph Klein Park through the Mud Between Your Toes program. It was a great opportunity for students to learn outdoors, explore the natural environment, and build on their classroom learning. A big thank you to all of our parent volunteers who supported our field trips this week, as well as those who supported our Scholastic Book Fair. We truly appreciate the time and support our families provide to make these experiences possible.

Looking ahead, Tuesday, September 29 will be Orange Shirt Day. Our school will come together to honour the experiences of residential school survivors and learn about the importance of Truth and Reconciliation. We are grateful to have Pearl White Quills join us to share her knowledge, stories and teachings with our students.  Thank you to the School Council for supporting this meaningful learning opportunity.

Looking forward to the week ahead; please remember that there will be no school on Wednesday, September 30th. Individual Photo Day will take place on Thursday, October 1st. Our Terry Fox Run will be held on Friday, October 2nd. If you would like to support our Terry Fox fundraising efforts, please click here to make a donation. Thank you for helping us support this important cause!

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!

Warm regards,

Calleigh & Mary
