Dear Thorncliffe Families,
We had another great week at Thorncliffe! Our Grade 5/6 students enjoyed their Open Minds field trip, which let them extend their learning beyond the classroom. Thank you to the parents and grandparents who volunteered their time to make this experience possible. We truly appreciate your continued support!
We are excited to share that Thorncliffe has received a grant from Education Matters to provide healthy morning snacks for our students! A special thank you to Education Matters for their generous support in helping ensure students have access to nutritious food to start their day.
Thorncliffe also partners with Brown Bagging for Calgary's Kids, a program that provides healthy lunches to students who need them. We recognise that families may need additional support at different times. If your family could benefit from lunch support or other resources, please reach out to our school office. We are connected with community organisations and are happy to help.
Our next School Council meeting is on October 22. Ms. Weir will share Kindergarten learning highlights, and Ms. Weir and Ms. Vuong will discuss plans for this year’s school musical. We will also share information and gather family feedback on a planned video surveillance project to enhance school safety and security. All parents and guardians are welcome! This meeting will be in hybrid format. Parents and Guardians are able to join online or at the school.
Reminder: There is no school on Monday, October 19. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!
Warm regards,
Calleigh & Mary

Halloween at School
Halloween is rapidly approaching and with it comes a lot of anticipation and excitement! We will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30th. There will be learning centered activities planned at school and students are welcome to wear a costume if they would like. Some reminders for the day:
- Please do not send in any candy or treats to distribute
- Costumes must be school appropriate and not too scary for young children
- No masks or handheld props are allowed at school
- Students need to be able to participate in all aspects of a regular day of school, which means they can fully participate in all learning activities including phys. Ed.
