Dear Thorncliffe Families,
It was great to see so many families at our Meet the Teacher evening! Thank you to everyone who visited the book fair – all proceeds from the book fair go towards new reading materials for students at Thorncliffe School. We are very appreciative of the volunteers that helped out to set up the fair, move the fair, work the evening of the fair and clean it up after. We couldn’t do it without you! The Book Fair raised over $1000.00 of funds towards new books for Thorncliffe School!
Next week there is no school for students on Monday for a professional learning day, and Tuesday for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Classes will resume on Wednesday, October 1st.
Students and staff participated in the first fire drill of the year this week. All students demonstrated their best silent, serious, and safe behaviour for the drill. We were so impressed!
Students showed their perseverance in the annual Terry Fox run this week. Kindergarten students ran on Thursday, and Grade 1-6 students ran on Friday. Thank you to everyone who participated and those who brought Twoonies for Terry to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation. You are also welcome to donate to our school fundraising link: https://schools.terryfox.ca/ThorncliffeElementary
This upcoming Thursday, October 2nd is School Picture Day. As a reminder, TLC kindergarten students are required to wear their formal uniform for pictures.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week!
Warmly,
Nadine and Calleigh
