We were thrilled to connect with so many Thorncliffe families at our Meet the Teacher evening and our first School Council meeting on Thursday. Teachers took time to share about routines, expectations, upcoming events, and other important information. If you were unable to attend the evening, please feel free to connect with your child’s teacher about any information you may have missed.
At the end of this week we say goodbye to Ms. Jessica Mabley. She is an education assistant and has been a valuable member of our school community. We wish her all the best as she pursues her career closer to home. Thank you Ms. Mabley!
“September 22 marks the fall equinox. This day heralds the shifting of the seasons; as we say farewell to summer, we notice the days grow shorter, a chilly crispness in the morning air, and leaves start to turn colour. O'ko (Blackfoot for fall) is an important time of gathering and preparation. Many signs and teachings come from the land during this time.” (CBE Indigenous Education Team). Over this upcoming week, Thorncliffe staff and students will be learning about the Fall Equinox and the National Week for Truth and Reconciliation. See below for a special learning invitation for families next weekend.
We hope you were able to enjoy time together this weekend!
Warmly,
Calleigh and Nadine
