We are so grateful for another fantastic week of learning. A big highlight this week was our Welcome Back Breakfast. Thank you to everyone who helped organize, prepare and attend it, in particular our amazing school council members.
Teachers are busy planning field trips for the year. In order to volunteer, you will need to complete your volunteer registration on your MyCBE account through School Engage. Instructions for how to get your police information check are available on the cbe website.

Healthy Hunger
- The first Healthy Hunger lunch will be on September 25th
- It will be Subway
- To sign up for lunches, go to https://healthyhunger.ca/ you will need to update your account for the current year (school, teacher etc.)

- Very important for our record keeping

School Council Meeting
- First Meeting on Thursday, September 12th at 6:00pm
- All Parent/Guardian/Caregivers of Thorncliffe students are welcome
- Great opportunity to connect with other parents, school administrators, and to learn about what is happening at the school

- Two time options, choose what works best for your family

- 6:15-6:45pm
- Not an opportunity for an interview, if you require a more 1:1 conversation with your child’s teacher, please connect with the teacher to book a time for a meeting or phone call
National Week for Truth and Reconciliation
- The last week of September we recognize National Week for Truth and Reconciliation
- If there are Thorncliffe school community members that would like to connect with us to support with our planning for this week, please email ceharder@cbe.ab.ca , we would be appreciative of your input and time
Walking Trips
- Throughout the year teachers will plan walking trips in the community for student learning opportunities
- There will always be an email or letter prior to the trip
- Please review the letter for additional details
Terry Fox
- Terry Fox run takes place on Friday, September 20th
- Students have been practicing their running in Phys. Ed.
