Dear Thorncliffe Families,
We had so much fun recognizing Be You Day this week. Students were proud to talk about their favourite colours, their culture, their favourite activities and many other aspects of their unique identities. It was an amazing day. We know many students (and a few staff!) forgot that it was Be You Day. We will be having more opportunities for Be You Day as well as other fun celebrations and spirit days.
This week will be our first Student Voice Meeting with students. On Thursday, we will be meeting with representatives from each class to talk about recess play, gathering student opinions and ideas about how to make recess fun and safe for everyone. We will also be talking with students about literacy instruction. What helps them learn? What do they wish they could do or have more help with? Their insight will help us make good decisions about our School Development Plan.
The weather is expected to change over the weekend, potentially bringing minus temperatures and snow. Please ensure students are dressed for outside play everyday with appropriate outdoor footwear and warm outdoor clothing. If access to warm clothing is a challenge for your family, please reach out to the school and we can help connect you with support.
Warmly,
Calleigh and Nadine
