Dear Thorncliffe Families,

We hope all of our families are staying safe and warm in the snow storm!  With the snow, come some important reminders to share with your children:

  • Use extra caution when crossing the streets – sometimes cars have a difficult time stopping when it is slippery
  • Busses can be late due to poor driving conditions – ensure you are checking for bus updates and dressing for the weather
  • Dress every day for play outside!  Snow pants, hat, mittens/gloves - Please no scarves as these can be a choking hazard
  • Snow at school stays on the ground  - children are never allowed to throw snow at school as it can cause injuries
  • Consideration of each other’s amazing snow creations!  Everyone is working hard to create different forts, snowmen, etc. And it is disappointing to come back to your work and see that it was not treated with respect.
  • Snow packs down around the school and school grounds into ice despite Mr. Kelvin’s best efforts to keep the snow clear.  We recommend to walk like a penguin and use care when using the walkways around the school.

We hope to see all of our families for student learning conferences this week! As a reminder, there is a full day of school Thursday, and no school for students on Friday. You can book your time using your mycbe account. Feel free to connect with the school office or your child's teacher for support booking a meeting.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Warm Regards,

Calleigh and Nadine
