Dear Thorncliffe Families,
The staff and students are very excited to present our musical, “Welcome to the Jungle” this week. Performances are on Wednesday and Thursday evening at 6:00pm. Each class will only perform once.
Wednesday Performers: Mr. Sandberg, Ms. Omanthi, Ms. Michael, and Ms. Amanda
Thursday Performers: Mr. Koo, Mr. Larson, Ms. Emma, and Ms. Brianne
Costume information:
What does my student need to wear? All costumes are based on a colour. Please do not purchase items, we ask that you use what you have at home. The importance is on the opportunity to perform, costumes are just extra. Students need to be able to sing, dance and move freely in their costume. Please ensure that the costume does not cover eyes and no hats will be allowed for the performance. Students need to wear shoes that are safe to dance in. If wearing a dress or skirt, students need to wear leggings or shorts underneath.
Grade 1/2 (Ms. Amanda, Ms. Brianne) - Grey, black or white solid colour clothing
Grade 2/3 (Ms. Emma, Ms. Michael) - Bright colours or animals. The story takes place in a jungle that we have created so their costumes are really open.
Grade 4/5 (Mr. Omanthi, Mr. Larson) - White shirts and black pants. Students will be given felt cut outs of different card suits to pin to the front of their shirts when they are at school.
Grade 5/6 (Mr. Sandberg, Mr. K) - Blue, purple or green coloured clothes AND black, grey or white colour clothes. They will need to change between the two songs since they are providing two different looks.
Students should be dropped off at 5:30pm at the main doors – they will proceed to their classrooms. The front door will be open for parents at 5:45pm to start taking their seats. No tickets are required and seating is first come first served.
Please reach out to the main office or your child’s teacher with any questions you may have.
Wishing you all a wonderful rest of your weekend!
Warm Regards,
Calleigh and Nadine
