Dear Thorncliffe Families,

What a fun and wonderful week!  A sincere thank you to our parent community member Marwa for the beautiful sharing about Ramadan with our students and the lovely gift.  Your time and generosity are truly appreciated.  Kindergarten 100 days of school was celebrated this week with many different 100 themed activities.  Seeing kindergarten students dressed like seniors is pretty adorable!  And lastly, we had our third Switcheroo of the year.  Some examples of activities were zentangle art, a community nature walk, needle felting, and soup making.  We appreciate our school council for their generosity in sponsoring this activity by providing funds for the additional materials.  Thank you!

Upcoming this week we have our school conferences Thursday from 5pm-8pm, and Friday from 8am-1pm.  All bookings are now open for conferences.  It is important to know that all meetings will be taking place ONLINE.  No in person meetings will be held.  The link for conference booking was emailed to families to the email addresses for parents/guardians on PowerSchool.  For support booking conferences, please contact the main office.

Spring break starts for students on Friday, March 21st. The next admin update will be posted on Sunday, March 30th.

Have a beautiful week!

Calleigh and Nadine

Facility Update

We continue to address emergent maintenance issues in schools during the ongoing labour action. School administration is able to access a variety of internal and external service providers as required.

There was an issue in the basement of Thorncliffe School on Thursday. A plumber was called and the issue was fixed. There was no impact in any classrooms and learning continued in the school as scheduled.

We are committed to keeping schools safe for students and staff and complying with AHS guidelines and occupational health and safety regulations. All building maintenance and safety protocols remain in place.

School Engagement Planning Survey

We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we are asking you to share your perspectives about our school development plan, school budget and school fees.

The survey is open from February 6, 2025 to March 31, 2025.

Please click on this link to complete the survey.

Your input is important to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspectives!

February Kindness Month Initiative

February is the month of kindness. Let’s come together as a school community and make a difference to some of our families in need!

Every contribution can help our families experiencing hardships access food to feed their families. Make a donation below, which we will use to purchase grocery gift cards to provide to our families when emergencies arise. We will collect gifts until March 21, 2025.
