Dear Thorncliffe Families,
We had an amazing week at Thorncliffe! The students enjoyed their workshop with Quest Theatre exploring social emotional strategies through dramatic play. Thank you to our School Council for their support of this opportunity.
On Wednesday, April 9th we have classroom photos. TLC students are required to wear formal uniforms on Wednesday for the photos.
We continue to notice students walking through the staff parking lot and parents pulling into this lot to drop off and pick up their students. Please note that the staff parking lot is unsafe to walk through due to the vehicle traffic and is off limits for student pick up or drop off for safety reasons.
A few times each month on Fridays, the admin team teaches all of the students. We call this time “Team Time” as it provides time for teaching teams to meet and plan learning for their students. As administrators, we appreciate this opportunity to connect with the students and address emerging concerns. This week, we talked about safety when walking to and from school. Some safe tips that we went over were:
- Walk with a friend or another family
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Know where to go if you feel nervous or afraid
- Come back to the school if you need help
